Coinbase Hires a New Chief Financial Officer
Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange corporation just hires a new chief financial officer.
Alesia Haas who is the previous CFO at the OneWest Bank and Oz Management, will be the new finance officer in Coinbase and start duties immediately. This is according to the information given on their blog post on Tuesday. At this same time, Haas is also expected to help Oz in the entire transition from June 1.
Asiff Hirji who is the president and the chief operating officer in Coinbase further said that Haas “will allow us to accelerate our goal of building a world-class financial team that scales with the company through this period of profound growth,” she then added that she has “extensive experience in managing highly regulated complex financial institutions.”
Additionally, Brian Armstrong, who is the CEO and the co-founder of Coinbase said in a statement;
“I’m incredibly excited to have Alesia join Coinbase as our new CFO. She brings deep financial services experience to our growing company. As a fintech company, finance is core to everything that we do.”
Therefore, the current Haas hiring was a representation of the current talent grab in Coinbase, which has been in a kind of hiring spree for a few months.
However, earlier in the month, Coinbase was involved in hiring the former Twitter and Facebook lead in communications Rachael Horwitz. Therefore, she became the new vice president for communications. Just like this case, in March, Coinbase tapped Eric Scro who is the former New York Stock Exchange, executive. He was, therefore, initiated as the new vice president in finance and also Emilie Choi who is the former LinkedIn executive. She became the corporate and business development vice president in Coinbase.
Additionally, Coinbase was involved in growing the ranks because they were involved in the purchase of Earn.com and also Cipher Browser formerly owned by Ethereum.
