MasterCard which is a world-renowned payment giant made an announcement on Thursday that it would hire around 175 technology developers. This will also include the Blockchain specialists.
The developers are meant to work in Leopardstown, Ireland which is out of MasterCard office. This is where the headquarters of the research and development of MasterCard lies. Therefore, the new hires are meant to create efficient systems and programs. This is according to a press release.
Irelands country manager, Sonya Geelong declared that the organization is working on the expansion of financial service access.
“We’re driving projects that promote financial inclusion at home and abroad, and are working to provide consumers, businesses, and governments with the most innovative, safe and secure ways to pay.”
This is a substantial invention due to the fact that the organization has always been eyeing the Blockchain technology for a long time.
In 2016, the organization was involved in releasing a series of experimental Blockchain based APIs. They then informed Cryptona.co that their major objective was to grant the developers a chance to work on the new technologies which they had not yet commercialized. Last year October, MasterCard then made an announcement that the programs would be used in the facilitation of business-to-business transactions.
Additionally, the ambitions of MasterCard’s Blockchain are also shown in the efforts of the organization to get a patent which is related to the technology.
A filing, last year September made a description of a Blockchain system recording the “purchase orders, invoices and transaction data.” Therefore, two months later, MasterCard was involved in the description of a Blockchain solution which would ensure that the transactions are as fast as possible.
