Steve’s Bitcoin Gone
In the New Delhi, India Yes Bank and The Economic Times Business summit Epicenter of the economic change: Named the New Economy, New Rules which was held on Feb 24 to 25 Wozniak was present. He was among the most respected guests for having helped in building a world-changing organization from a garage. Wozniak was among such speakers as the prime minister of India in the discussion of economics and technology.
Steve Wozniak then highlighted various issues such as his distaste for Donald Trump, the times encountered with Steve Jobs and also the promise of the subcontinent and the increasingly tech-savvy workforce. When asked about Bitcoin, he said, “Bitcoin to me was a currency that was not manipulated by the governments. It is mathematical, it is pure, and it can’t be altered.” Wozniak is said to have purchased Bitcoin when it was at the $700 USD level and sold it late last year when it was at its peak.
Therefore, it seems he didn’t see the gains according to his speech at the summit, “I had seven Bitcoin stolen from me through fraud. Somebody bought them from me online through a credit card, and they canceled the credit card payment. It was that easy! And it was from a stolen credit card number so you can never get it back.”
He explained that he was not an investor as one day he anticipated to travel and maybe pay with Bitcoin for the hotels which accept Bitcoin. He said that he even tried to buy things online using Bitcoin, but it didn’t work. That was when he decided to sell it all except one.
